Sean O’Sullivan
Not quite the Irishman his name might suggest, Sean is a Cardiff native. In his heyday, Sean packed down with and against some of the Wales' finest in the front rows first with Pontypridd and later Rumney RFC. His back, shoulders and knees carrying the war wounds of his time at the top of the rugby game, Sean's doctor has called him a "walking medical case study". Not quite able to completely turn his back on being beaten around for fun, Sean took up mountain biking 5 years ago or so, hitting the trails as hard as he ever went into a scrum or maul. A determined climber, Sean has added road riding to mountain biking and now divides his loyalties between the two. Having completed the Etape du Tour in 2006 and then conquering a number of the Alpine Cols over the next few days, Sean has been readying himself for this cycling challenge of a lifetime.
When not in the saddle, Sean devotes what time he has left to his plastering business. 2007 brings up the half century for Sean and if his first 50 are anything to go by, then... |
