Mick Tinning

Mick is Australian.  He has lived in the UK since 1993 and in Cardiff since 2000.  Given that his ambition of becoming a pro-surfer now seems increasingly unlikely to come true he has had to become a solicitor to pay his bills.

Mick has been a keen cyclist for many years and has previously extensively toured France, but at a substantially more sedate pace but weighed down by a set of bulging panniers.  Out of an inability (or perhaps lack of motivation) to do anything that involves much running around any more, Mick’s transformation from ordinary commuting rider to deluded roadie started about 3 years ago in an attempt to keep fit.  He’s now become a regular cyclosportive rider, completing the Etape du Tour of 2005 and 2006 many similar events throughout Wales and beyond. He now thinks that nothing short of the entire Tour route is the logical next challenge.

Mick’s long-suffering partner Jennie is supportively bemused and wonders if a 40th birthday in 2007 may have anything to do with this.
